The Bag Lady set to revolutionise UK shopping habits

A former model has designed a funky new range of products which are set to be the next 'must have' accessories for all cool shoppers.

Eco Catt - the Eco-friendly, cool and trendy trolley, is the brainchild of Tracy Barton, whose inspiration came whilst enjoying a bottle of wine and listening to Gordon Brown declare that plastic carrier bags were the 'most visible symbol of environmental waste'.

Tracy, now known as 'The Bag Lady', remembered the rising popularity of shopping trolleys when she spent time in Spain last year. With consumers in the UK also being urged to reduce the number of car journeys, she felt that shoppers here would embrace the concept, providing the trolleys did not damage their street credibility.

Tracy has put her extensive fashion knowledge and skills into creating her own very special range of trendy products. At the heart of the range is the Eco Catt trolley, which is fully detachable from its steel frame and can also be used as a ruck sack, making it ideal for a wide range of activities other than the weekly food shop, including retail therapy around town, trips to the gym, picnics, family outings… the list is endless. Best of all, the bag's outer pockets are thermal lined, which means that hot things stay hot and chilled things stay cool - ideal for that hot roast chicken and cool beer!

With bright, modern designs, the Eco Catt range of 'Eco-friendly, cool and trendy things' will feature flexible shopping trolleys, kit bags and pouch bags. All are made from sustainable cotton canvas with waterproof backing, making them lightweight and durable for use, whatever the weather.

The initial range is already in stock locally at top department store Fenwicks and also across the country and Tracy is currently in advanced talks with other up-market outlets at home and abroad. "It's been a lot of hard work but i'm so excited at the fantastic response i've had. People say it's difficult to launch a new business during the recession but Eco Catt has proved that if you have a great idea and bags of ambition then you can succeed" said Tracy. "I've had tremendous support and what's even better is that the trolleys are held in high regard by a number of celebrities. For example, Les Dennis and members of the cast of 'High School Musical' are currently using Eco Catts on and off stage on their current UK tour."
